First Phone Call - on video

Holy smokes, get out the hankies.

Part 1

Part 2
(big surprise in part two, but I don't want to give away anything)

How often do we get to see this - someone talking to his mom for the very first time!

WOW. I'm totally crying.

Holy toledo. I was born and relinquished from the same hospital as he was. Goose bumps.

His amom is pathetic. But it is so cool his parents are together and he is getting a little full sibling and they were trying to find him. Sigh. Very cool.

Oh yeah, I wept.

Susan I always find it oddly connecting when I come across another adoptee who was born in my county. It's like I found a closer member of the tribe. We shared sorrow in the same place.

And Julie yet AGAIN another natural family trying to find their relative and being told by whomever that they 'couldn't' do it. What did they tell his gramma, that they didn't know his name? Oh come on! The lies fed to separated families never end.

Nope. No corruption here.

Well, at least they didn't tell him the hospital burned down?

That was really cool.

I am going to say a prayer of thanks right this moment that we are in an open relationship with Ebaby's parents...that I know every piece of identifying information...that even though I don't have the official OBC I at least have a copy of the application signed by both of them with all the same information...that Elizabeth will at least be spared those excruciating moments of busy signals, fax tones and incessant ringing.

That was almost more than my heart could handle this morning, Theresa. But worth it.

For any of you who want to be totally creeped out, I posted a video response.

That's so funny because I was just in the process of writing you a note about that. I did see it, way to go. I don't know how many adoptees he's got supporting him right now. I sent him a note. I saw the link to his video has tons of comments over at digg too

Did you know that it was me?

And did you check out my amazing drunken video that precedes it?

Ungrateful Little Bastard June 28, 2007 at 8:38 AM

Yeah I knew it was you, but I didn't check out the drunk action until you said so :)

i am so glad julie so the same amom attitude that i did. she annoyed me at several points in her talking. condescending and insecure. regardless, it was very cool, i sobbed like crazy, thanks for sharing.

His a-mother saying she feels like she gave birth to him kind of scared me. She has a harsh cold vibration to her voice, I think she's scared of the reunion.

The natural mother has a lot of love in her voice and was very generous towards his parents.

Let's hope it all works out good for EVERYONE, but especially for him.

Yes, amom said some really creepy things - I think out of ignorance. But, she endorsed Alex's search and she raised a very fine young man.

I was also touched by the sweet voice of Alex's natural mom. His demeanor (gentle and open) seemed so much more like his natural parents (gentle and open) than his adoptive parents (sharp and defensive).
